Those of you that know my posting tenancies know that I don't really make large posts. Especially ones about general respect, morals and honesty in the forum. But this really hit me hard and I hope that you guys can take the time to read it.
I appreciate all comments, so please feel free to let me know what you think about the situation.
You know there is a lot of stuff that bothers people on sports betting forum. Some of it is just your standard forum banter, but other times it can hurt your reputation. Things like:
1) Posting picks they made after they come in winners (past-posting).
2) Posting incorrect lines on plays they make
3) Claiming winning streaks of 12-0 even though they lost their last 30 plays.
But you know what really does it?
What really makes you look completely shady and dishonest?
When you make a posted agreement on a bet and then lose and do not post up the points.
Friends, this is not about me. This is about someone we all hold dear to our hearts and our bankrolls. This is about the great forum poster paco and how he was scammed for 291 points from JGetz.
I invite you to read the story of this scam of JGetz: The forum poster who ripped off paco.
Please enjoy.
It all started Sunday, September 19, 2010 when JGetz made this post:
JGetz wanted to wager against paco. Paco responds and the conversation takes place as follows:
That is basically the bet. The understanding is that paco has the Texas straight up. And therefore JGetz has Redskins straight up.
There is some friendly banter about the bet:
At this point everything seems good.
Enter paco magic:
Then of course Houston amounts this unbelieveable comeback and the game is tied 27-27
Houston wins the game in OT. 30-27!
paco asks:
JGetz replies:
I think you need to realize the impact of that post. By asking double or nothing, it implies that JGetz realizes he lost this bet. If this bet was a push, then he would not be able to afford 'double' the bet.
8:05 PM and JGetz is nowhere to be heard of.
8:42 PM and JGetz finally comes to make a post well after the game ends:
Why would he ask for 'double or nothing' then? (Funny part is that the line was -2.5 anyway). Personally I had this pick and I play on Pinny. Line was -2.5
Wow. He actually goes on to say this. JGetz WAITED until the score was 7-20 in his favor. But then has the nerve to say Houston was up 7-6 when he took the bet. Look at the post times, I have documented everything in order. This is completely ridiculous. paco took the team down 20-7 when this bet was finally accepted by JGetz.
If you want to read the barrage of people that disagree with him right after he posts that, you can just start here:
paco later realizes about the double or nothing comment by JGetz:
I know this happens all the time to various people on the forum. I know it happens for amounts as small as 10 points as silly as that sounds.
The thing is that usually you never hear about it. Usually it is these small 'convenience store robberies' shall we say and the threads disappear into the forum, never to be bumped again.
Well as I write this there are 1,713,682 views on paco's thread.
JGetz, congrats on walking into Fort Knox and trying to get away with this.
If you really don't care about these points then take it from everyone and pay the man. Clear your reputation and do what is right. Until then, I suggest no one accept any deals from JGetz.
Thanks for taking the time to read guys. Again, I appreciate any and all comments on this.
That's all,
