Value is in FLA
FLA Yes - it’s Carpenter. Yes - the Fish are playing poorly - have lost 6 in a row. Yes - FLA is 4 games under .500 at home on the year. Yes - Cards are not mathematically out of the Central and have more to play for. So why the Marlins here? We’re getting +1.34 ML - that’s a .57 win expectation for Cards - they are .419 on the road overall. At +1.34 the Fish need to play .430 in this spot to be profitable - they are .473 at home on the year. Flying into a city for 1 day – checking in and out of a hotel and moving a team in and out of a clubhouse in 24 hours is brutal. Carpenter is off 2 bad starts (ERA over 8 L2) – gave Cubs 5 runs in last and left with a tight right hammy. Although Volstad has not been great - he is on 3 consecutive W’s going for 4. With 2 shots at 5 innings and ML – a split of the 2 plays here will be profitable. Given all of above - if we play this game 100 times - the value is all Marlins at this price.
FLA just went to +1.42 (Betjamaica) = .4132 break even %

And it sucks because the Cards arent getting to expose any of their minor leaguers trying to stay in this race that they were morally eliminated from a month ago.

I just wish the cards could get on the board and get a little confidence... carpenter freakin intentionally walks the bases loaded and gives up a grand slam... IDIOT!

the moral of this story, as it has been all year long, is to play the dog in day games. i'm on the cardinals....

Seems like everytime that I take the Cardinals, they lose... but when I play the dogs against the Cardinals, the Cards win in convincing fashion... I'll just start staying away from the Cardinals all together!

Can't believe the Cards are favored against anyone. Pitching is tired and the only thing LaRussa does on offense is trot out Pujols and bat the pitcher in the 8 hole.

The bad thing is, the Cardinals have had runners in scoring position 3 of the 7 innings that they've hit... none of the hitters can get a hit to get on the scoreboard. It's ridiculous to have a lineup like St Louis', only for them to lay a major egg like they are doing right now against one of the worst starters in baseball.

They are the strangest team for me and I should know better.
Everyteam I play them they do nothing on offense, Pujois and Holliday will get a hit or two but not consecutively and their offense looks very flawed.
Then whenever I play someone against them they get offense contributions from their crappy secondary players and score 7 or more runs.
I must just be a jinx to them and will officially not touch their games the rest of the year.

marlins were as high as +150 by pitch. People will always take Carpenter. He looked injured last time I watched him pitch.
