Today is a great situational play on Padres. Yes Chris young is back from shoulder injury and has yet to pitch since his injury. However from what I hear he has done really well being able to mix up his pitches. His fastball is not what it used to be, however the way he hides the ball and the fact he is so tall it will be very hard for the hitters to pick up his pitches.
He may only going 5 or 6 innings, however regardless of how many he goes I believe they will have a decent size lead against Suppan who is 1-7 and if that record doesn't speak volume, not sure what does. Suppan is only pitching because Garcia is flat out tired.
Suppan has a very high WHIP and over 5.00 ERA, just what the Padres need to get those bats moving today. So no I am not afraid to take the Padres today at a small line of anywhere from 111-125 depending on your book. If young had pitched all year you would be seeing Padres -160 an higher, therefore I see a huge edge here.
