Astros will be contenders regaurdless next year, I have been pleasantly suprised by thier play after Berkman and Oswalt were dealt away.

Joe Torre isn't going to a mid-market team like the Astros. And you wouldn't even want him. He's not a miracle worker. He needs the talent to win, which the Astros don't have yet.

any team that wants torre better be ready to pony up 6-8 mill a year. he wont manage for less than that. when he was yankee manager he loved the fact that he was manager of the yankees and what came with having that job. hobknobbing with big celebrities. and being paid a lot of money. more than the actual job itself.

Right on. The guy knows players and media and what organizations need, but is NOT a good coach.

ive always said coaching can be quite overrated, baseball/hockey i think it doesn't matter...football cause of play selection is where it matters. Torre was the beneciary of some very good teams

Torre only won with all star teams, he is a nobody like all other coaches. Players win not coaches.
