11 million, over two years, for Dotel?

The White Sox have agreed to terms with Octavio Dotel on a two-year contract worth $11 million, according to Impacto Deportivo.

Dotel will have done quite well if he gets a guaranteed two-year deal for that much money despite not throwing more than 30 2/3 innings in a season since 2004. He showed that injuries haven't sapped him of dominant stuff in limited action last season and would potentially give the White Sox an elite late-inning setup man in front of closer Bobby Jenks.

This is one of those deals that you just shake your head at. The Pale Hose have to be convinced he's really 100% healthy to give that kind of money to Dotel.

Remember how bad CWS bullpen was last year.... I think OD will really help out. If this guy is a 100%, he is a very solid relief. Of course, staying healthy is a big problem for him the past few years. CWS had big issues with their bullpen last year and their offense. This is going to be an important year for Ozzie Guillen and company....

those are his innings pitched over the last 3 seasons. thats ridiculous. even if hes healthy now, there is no raason to believe he will stay healthy. this is a shot in the dark, truly gambling here.

Kenny Williams has made some strange moves this offseason. Alot of the key players he wanted got snagged up by other teams this offseason. I think he's grabbing straws now. It better work this year because I believe he's on thin ice if they fail to make the playoffs.

even if this move works, somehow, it was all luck. hate to be getting your hopes up on a shot in the dark. the white sox sure seem like they've fallen awfully far, awfully quickly.

The White Sox probably won't be too bad. They have gained Swisher, Dotel and Linebrink.

also Crede is expected to be back for them.

I'd say 3rd place with an outside shot at 2nd.
