Its a rarity that I ever ask someone what the bet, and the say "(Insert Team Name) +1.5".

Those +1.5 are great when you can get low odds on them, when the better pitcher is the Dog.

I took these two on the Overnights

    Nationals +1.5 -120

    Scrubbies +1.5 -125

Not a bad bet...especially since lines just jumped down to -179 for braves

Why are you taking Nats +1.5? Do you see the Braves winning by 1 run or the Nats losing by 1 run? This game will be decided by more than 1 run. If you like the Nats, muster the courage to do Nats ML. I personally expect Nats RRL to cash here.

I also take +1.5 when the money is also + money. I seem to do pretty great with those. That is usually when the favorite is like -250 or so

I am sure you can be successfully with it, but I personally haven't had any luck.
Lost everytime I try to pull one off, think I won one of them and it was a game the underdog won big so it was not needed.

Think it works best when the game has more importance to both teams as 1 run games occur often in those type of scenerios.
Rather than the expected blowouts where in most cases if the favorite wins they win bug, but what I know I haven't had luck with +1.5's.

Those are the only sides that usually have value.

-1.5 is a ginormous sucker bet.

I always take the 1.5's. It is hard enough to win a baseball game, let alone win by 2 runs. I say take the 1.5.

I personally like to play + dogs straight up without the +1.5 RL. If sound money management is used I think it could be more profitable long term. I didn't do any studies or anything but I think there may be seasons where if you take all dogs blind in baseball same unit wagers for the entire season and WIN money. If you blind bet all favorites you'll be in the poor house within 2 weeks (if not sooner). Makes sense because the public wants to win a given wager NOW (with a large, all-in type wager on favorites) as oppose to grind dogs for profit long term so the lines have to inflated for favorites in general to compensate. If it wasn't for the juice betting all dogs will definitely land you in the penthouse.

Both win straight up, but I'm not mad that I took them both on the Runline.

I beat the closing line of both. I consider that a win in, and of itself.
