Hughes is plain gutless in big games, he hasn't pitched well at all since his great start to the season, and Tampa had success against him when he was pitching well at Tampa(3 runs in 6IP). Shields is 2-7 in his career against the Yankees with 4.95, hasn't pitched well since early June, and the Yankees bats may have woke up a little yesterday.
A straight bet on TB or the Yankees at current odds seems valueless to me, since Hughes is a POS and the Yankees hit Shields, aside from the last time out, which just makes me think they are due. 9 is reasonable to me for the over, even if one team does most the scoring. What say you?
