Rolen to Jays, Glaus to Cards
Just saw this on ESPN.com. Here is the link:

The St. Louis Cardinals have reached agreement on a trade with Toronto that will send third baseman Scott Rolen to the Blue Jays for third baseman Troy Glaus, a major league source said.

From a Cards fan, hope it is true. Never lived up to the promise and was a stone cold choker in STL.

Who pays for Glaus's steroids? Cardinals or Jays?

As a Jays fan, can't say I'm overly pleased with this deal, but what the hell.

Actually, I don't see how a fan of either team could be excited about this. Two declining players making way too much money. Hoorah.

As a Cardinals fan I think it is a good deal to get rid of Rolen because he hasn't gotten along with La Russa at all the past year or so.

Do I feel it was a fair trade... No I don't!

Everyone knew that the Cardinals had to unload Rolen before the season started, because LaRussa and him tore apart the clubhouse last year.

You got that right bigboydan. They knew they had to unload him or there would be turmoil in the clubhouse the whole year again. I am just glad it's over.

It's not over by any stretch Tblues. They still need to play the 2008 season yet, and it's going to be a long one too IMO.

Both are in decline, and both are injury prone, but being from toronto and watching Glaus play day in and day out, getting him out of town had to be priority number one. Terrible defensively with zero range, nagging injuries and a strike out machine in clutch situations. My opinion from the toronto side is that anything would be better than Glaus. Add in all the negative publicity from the steroids and not surprised at all to see him go.

If the guy doesn't want to be there, then trade him. That's my stand on it. There's kid's out there who would be jumping for joy to be in that clubhouse, and play on the MLB stage for a measely $100 a day, nevermind millions a year. I just think the Cards should've shopped Rolen a little more before they pulled the trigger on the deal. Glaus has declined A LOT in the past cpl years. Don't really see him making a spectacular comeback.
