September Baseball
Nothing has changed! The GOOD TEAMS will keep on winning and the BAD TEAMS will keep on losing! And yes some really bad teams will beat some really good teams! The bullpens will continue to blow saves and great starters will blow up! Casey will strike out with the game on the line! And the unknown 150 average hitter will go off on the best pitcher in the game! Just because it's September doesn't mean all this will some how magically change!
What does change is the type of people who will be betting on the games! Most of the squares who didn't go broke before now, betting on nothing but the big faves have moved on to bet nothing but the big faves in football! Leaving people like us to clean up on the easy lines! Why are they easy lines? Because the line makers are busy with football and can't spend all their time on Baseball! They won't worry about Baseball until the playoffs start when all the squares will be back! And most of the squares that dumped there entire accounts on the Yankees and Phillies are now dumping on the Vikings and Saints! Thus the lines won't be as inflated as they were before September rolled around!
So until the playoffs start all us grinders will enjoy the easy money! We won't be unloading on "Games Of the Year" or betting the house on "this game can't lose"! We won't be betting on a team because "they are due"! And we surely won't be betting on a team because "they are pissed" and "need" this win! We won't be betting on a team because its "our team"! We won't be betting a game just because it's on TV! And finally we won't be betting every game on the card!
What we will do is watch as many games as possible! Study box scores and play by plays of the games we didn't get to watch! We will read trends and match ups until we have blisters on our eyeballs! We will read the sports section of teams home town newspapers, awe the benefits of the internet, looking to find the best possible one or two games to bet on for the day!
One thing I personally will miss when the squares are gone! Is coming to boards like this one and FADING the board darling of the day!
So enjoy the month of September it truly is the easiest month of the year to make $ with Baseball!
