Is the Reds Chapman for real??
I say yes. This situation reminds me sort of when K-Rod came up for the Angels..

An eye-opening big league debut, topping out at 102 mph during his perfect inning, and the Reds added to their rapidly growing lead in the NL Central by beating the Milwaukee Brewers 8-4 on Tuesday night.

Yes, he's for real. One of the best international signing of last year. Dude not only throws 100 but has a wicked slider.

Wish they would start him. But he will have the same role K-Rod and David Price had.

Really I put this up last night didn't watch ESPN.. Just saying that they will use him same way.. I read about this kid over 2 months ago.. Not trying to take credit for the KRod comparison just reminds me of that time.

Probably shouldn't start him just yet. The Reds don't want to pull-a-Strasburg and blow his arm out after only a few games. Work him in slow and only for short innings. With their large lead in NLC, they have a perfect opportunity to give him 2-3 IPs per week.

When it gets to play off time, it would be great to see him out of the bullpen in the NL championship! Imagine their faces when he hits 105 on live national TV!

i have faced 95+ in multiple all star games at fenway park and the lighting and background in these major league stadiums makes the ball extreme easy to see and hit. 100+ is very tough but it isn't that which makes it difficult to hit. it is the arm action, change in speeds with his off speed pitches (slider) and location which is the key to everything he or anyone does, not the speed. you can't just throw 100 mph and be successful, not gonna work but for a few games.

He's now throw 6 sliders in two games an produced 5 swing and misses and 6 strikes.

This kid is stupid good. He is a lefty throwing 100 mph with an 86-88 mph slider. I heard someone on TV compare him to Randy Johnson! A little early for that, but what a complement. This being only his first season, the sky is the limit. This good already and he is still a raw talent. Unbelievable.
