Hamels and Beckett are not exactly the model of consistency this season. The can be hit hard any given night; even against those two light hitting clubs. The better pick is just to put small amount of money on both dogs.

The Cards also have a tendency to go down in flame when you don't expect it. How many times have Carpenter bit the dust this year as a heavy favorite? Plus they have a losing record on the road and the Pirates are due for a home win.
