Not exactly sure why all the National backers from last night wanting to lay -175 on a fat over the hill pitcher are not flocking in herds to take them tonight with a better pitcher on the mound at -125. And you wonder why most people lose money. Still trying to figure it out.

Cubs might get hot with a new manager. They were as tired of Lou, as he was with their performances.

Cubs have new life, and may start making their backers money over the last bit of the season.

i would never bet on washington as a favorite, there are other games. i don't know why anyone would bet on a team 20 games below .500 and put more money up than they can win. if you take a step back and realize what you doing when you make this wager you have to really wonder if you are in right business.

Just 5 things to note:
1) Zambrano has given up a grand total of 1 run in the last 18 2/3 innings he's pitched in Washington
2) Lannan has an ERA of 3.46 vs. Cubs. That's decent but nowhere near Zambrano's vs. the Nationals
3) Cubs are 5-0 in Washington
4) Cubs are 5-1 in Zamb's L6 starts vs. Nats
5) Nats are 1-11 in Lannan's L12 Tuesday starts.

Following the change in management, I think the Cubs will go on an Orioles-like run now.
