Joe Blanton has done nothing but disappoint this year, Brett Myers is having the best season of his life, and will be playing against his former team (if that holds any merit). Why is the line so thick? Is there a situational or split stat that places PHI as that big of an advantage?

MAYBE BECAUSE MEYERS STINKS ON THE RD,RD REC 2-7 ,TEAM REC 4-9 IN HIS RD STARTS.
BLANTON 4-2 AT HOME TEAM REC FOR THOSE STARTS 8-3 , JOES STARTS AT HOME HAVE COMPILED 7TEAM WINS IN A ROW AND 8OF THE LAST 9.

Line definitely where it is cause all of the DL guys are bafck for the Phils (Howard, Utley, etc...)
The public strongly feels the Phils are going to go on a run now and since they are the defending NL League champs and have a sexy offense.
if you feel differently and think they will continue to struggle you could make a ton of money against them as they will be public favs and have heavy chaulk the rest of the season.

Plus it is Hou they still suck on the road.
if it were not Blanton and Myers but too equal pitchers, this game is more than -200

The thing is... besides all of MYers' success... the guy is an absolute HEADCASE.
Will he be able to just go out and pitch against a team without thinking about all of the other crap? I think the situation is too big for Brett. I think if the phils get some men on early, get a big hit, he will absolutely implode. I dont trust Blanton, either, especially with 4-2-4-2 trend he's put together (4 is due today), which is why i think the over is the play.
But don't bet against the phils. that would be silly.
The astros suck, and these phils know Myers' stuff better than anyone in the majors.

Its the Astros they are terrible. They've pulled off some wins here lately but its been against the Pirates and Mets. They almost got swept this weekend by Florida. Phillies are on a whole different level. I wouldn't be surprised the least if they swept the series.
