The Rubber Match in Philly Equals Phatty Pockets. Trust me, I'm Married to a Doctor.
Washington Nationals +205 (Olsen) @ Philadelphia Phillies -245 (Oswalt)

I consider this matchup today one of the easiest picks in recent memory. Most of the time, a baseball game can go either way, which is why I was fairly certain that the Phils were going to get it done against the Wonder Boy last night. Clearly, that didn’t pan out as I had hoped, and I have no problem chasing down those losses today. I learned a few lessons yesterday, especially after hitting Arsenal, risking 650 to win 100. It’s time for me to keep it simple, sweetie. You lookin' for a guarantee on Sundee... Look no further than CBP in South Philly.

Roy Oswalt (10-14, 3.36; 3-1 in red) goes today for the Phils looking to rectify his horrid opening start against these same Washingtonians. Oswalt has found his groove for the Phightin’ Phils, getting the W decision in his last two, and the Phils winning the game in the last three. Oswalt, in those last three starts, has combined for 20.1 IP and allowed a combined 5 earned runs, striking out 17 and walking 6.
Last night, the Phils got a welcome early surprise as The Big Piece was activated before the game from the Disabled List. If it wasn’t for Stephen Strasburg and his near 50 point higher BAA lefties, the Phils could have played their opening day roster for only the 9th time of the season. Today they will wear those magical day, home-game, off-white, old-time uniforms, in which they are seemingly unbeatable and absolutely should put all of their boys on the pitch at the same time... Phinally.
Today is some of the easiest money many of us have made in quite some time. The Phils will give it their all in front of the 103rd consecutive sell out at Citizen’s Bank Park, field their team to its entirety, give mad support to Roy, who will look to make it 10 straight wins for a pitcher named Roy on the Phils. I don’t know whether it’s this team, the season heading deep into playoff races, the newfound sense of what to do with my money, or this mild coffee buzz, but I am really, really excited about this play today. This is a must win situation for the Phils who have failed on multiple occasions of late to gain much needed ground. There is no way the Phils lose this series to the Nats. No chance.
Scott Olsen (5-7, 5.14) goes for the Nationals today. Olsen is a gas can. The Nationals have lost three consecutive Olsen starts and six of his last seven. In his last three starts (this is a great measure considering Oswalt’s line over his last three), Scottie has lasted 12 innings, given up 15 runs on 18 hits, allowed 4 bombs and walked 4, too. His shortest outing, sandwiched of the three, he allowed 7 earned in 1.2 at home against the Marlins.
It doesn’t always make a lot of sense to play juice like this in a MLB game. But today is an exception. Just like Friday was an exception with -100 more, and we all know how that turned out.
The Phils are 1-1 in this series and have scored 2 runs. Today is a special day. Please don’t miss the return of the back-to-back NL pennant winning offense, who will be explosive today against this poor, poor, Scottie O.

    Braves Watch:
ATL -141 @ CUB +121: I expected to call the Braves today as part of my guarantees. I didn’t see how it would be possible that they would give the Phils yet another opportunity to gain some ground, nor that they would lose a series to the Cubs. But this one is tight. And the Cubs already beat the Phils in that series earlier in the year (about a month ago). Now that I look at this line, I like the Cubs chances at home to return the favor. I don’t know much about this Minor kid, and I’m finished digging today. Wells has been better of late, and certainly has the stuff to beat the Braves today. It could very well be the beginning of the end for the Braves. Us Phils fans may sit down to dinner with a grin on our faces and a 1.5 game deficit in our division.

ha. not in Philly they didnt. Not with a series on the line.
Not with ALL 8 position starters for the Phils.
Not today. dont make that mistake.

Utley is reportedly out today. Phillies are in a hitting slump. I think youre putting too much faith into this win.

Olsen is a gas can. Oswalt has won three straight. they will not lose two in a row and the series to the last place nats. not gonna happen.
Anyway, you could be right. but i effing hope not.
