ok, i am dying to see here who are the posters that are crazy by betting Halladay at a little under -400................. and i also want to see who here has the balls to take the +350 or so..

I am going to be honest.. I am on Halladay, only because my local gave it to me at -300..

boys, IF philly lose today, you might not see me for awhile, as i will be in a severe depression paying this mother fukker local.. boys, i will be sick to the stomach if i lose this one. my weekend will be shattered.. i have to do this, i just have to at that price..

Not playing this one but if I had to I would take the Nats at +1.5. Their was a game earlier in the year where Halladay was a favourite in this price range. I think the Phills lost that game outright but can't remember who it was against. Wouldn't be surprised at all if this is a close game.

I think Halladay is as good as ever. He has a 2.24 ERA this year. He's 15-8. He did not even have great run support earlier in the year, which cost him a few games.

depends on how you wager on bases. if your normal bet is 5% of your bankroll and you like the Phillies -350 or whatever the big ass line is, play the bet to "risk" 5% and take the smaller payout if it wins. if it loses, no biggie, you lost your normal wager amount on a play. baseball is not that difficult to make money if you set up your wagers properly. In this scenario, your chances of winning a smaller amount with Philly far outweigh the odds of the big payout by taking Washington.

Uh, jason Marquis is starting for the Nationals --

It quite impossible to put into words just how awful he's been this year, the best way to describe is that he gave 5 runs in 4 innings last start and it improved his ERA.

Its so hard to take a game at -400, but seriously, I can't justify placing any money on Marquis.
