Gotta take them at this price at home. Johnson is a great pitcher but the Reds are gonna bounce back off that sweep by the cards. Im going Reds medium range and will pray for some luck.

#11LOL being a square is what new bettors are for the first few years. I did well in bases last year, really well. Im happy for the guys who cashed in bases this year. The thing most forget is that this is a year to year thing. Just like a good sports team its hard to be like the yankees year in year out.Comment -

#12Seems like fish are rolling and you know about JJ so kinda like today going against Santana, it's a tough spot. Reds have faced really good pitching as of late and JJ is no exception. From a situational standpoint I think the Reds should come out hot but it doesn't mean they will be able to put any runs up vs such a quality pitcher. On the other hand I wouldn't back the Fish just purely based on the price/situation, so good luck.Comment -

#34This number should not inspire much confidence with Marlins-backers, as its clearly begging for you to bet Josh Johnson, which is ridiculous. Why would oddsmakers beg you to bet one of the best pitchers in the Majors, by making him a relatively small favorite in this spot? The answer is simple, the Reds will win this game, and it all starts with a resurgent Edinson Volquez.
He had some issues when he first got back on the scene (July 17th), but has since gotten back to form, posting a 1.54 ERA in two starts this month. He's still dealing with some control issues, but if you saw his last home game vs the Braves, you saw flashes of brilliance (despite the 5 walks), he allowed just 3 hits over 5 innings, striking out 6 for the win. He's also 3-0 with a 1.80 ERA in 3 career starts against the Fish, although none this season. The last time he saw them he allowed 3 hits thru 8 scoreless innings May 5th in Florida.
But the one reason I'm expecting a real solid effort from the Reds tonight is the combination of the day off and the way they got embarrased by the Cardinals. It wasn't just the brawl, but brawling and getting swept, at home no less. A day off to think about it, and prepare for Johnson, should do wonders for a Cininnati club that needs to get back on track. Reds (Volquez) over Marlins (Johnson).Comment -
