I think he will hang around until he gets the record. I think that matters to him. He needs a team though.
Yanks should be looking to replace Jeter....very tough to do with such a popular player, but he is in decline.
Posada and Rivera are also aging.Comment -

#46YOU GUYS ARE MISSING THE POINT INSTEAD OF GUESSING HOW MANY HOMERUNS A-ROD WILL HIT LETS GUESS HOW MANY A-ROD WOULD HAVE HIT WITHOUT STEROIDSTHESE ARE STEROID HOMERUNS AND DONT COUNT SO LETS NOT GIVE A-ROD OR ANY OTHER STEROID FREAK THE RECOGNITION THEY DONT DESERVE.
WITHOUT STEROIDS A-ROD WOULD HAVE BEEN LUCKY TO HIT 375 HOMERUNS IT WAS ALL ROIDS BOYS LOOK AT THE NUMBERS SINCE HE IS OFF STEROIDS THATS THE TELLING TRUTH.REMEMBER THE RUMORS THAT A-ROD MIGHT HAVE BEEN TAKING ROIDS ALL THE WAY BACK TO HIGHSCHOOL THIS GUY IS A FRAUD AND DOESNT HAVE HOMERUN POWER WITHOUT STEROIDS.
I HIT A HOMERUN/DOUBLE OFF HALL OF FAMER (JIM CORSI) IN HIGHSCHOOL AND I WASNT ON STEROIDSBEANTOWNJIM PLAYED THE GAME CLEAN

all the great hitters who hit homeruns on a enourmous clip obviously took steroids or HGH

#54Way too long-term to bet this on post -up. It would have to be a credit wager.
I think he gets the 163 more in time, and he has 7+ years left, a nice 20+ a year pace gets him there.Comment -

#55His HR's are in decline, quite a few Yankees have more. He's doing fine in RBI's though....I think second in MLB.
He probably is a bigger threat to get the RBI actually !

#60He's 35 and he's batting .263.
He won't even reach 30 homers this season.
9 years? Hell no.
I'm willing to bet any amount of points he doesn't finish with 30 this year (postseason not included).[quote=jjgold;5683305]I win again like usual

#69Im not so sure anymore - that Hip injury is extremely troublesome and has sapped his slugging that last coupe of years and they still talk about it bother him at time --
And as he gets older he wont have the advantage of popping amphetamines like Hank Aaron did --
I think from now till about age 38, 25 HRs a year is reasonable and that will put him at around 700, how well he can hold up from 39-42 will tell the taleComment -

#70I see him at about 2200 RBI in 4 years after the 2014 season, agree with 700 HR then as those stats are very correlated. At that point the RBI total gets broken first.

He'd have a Hell of a lot of hits too ! Eventually he should DH or retire but his glove is still very good. Jeter loses his defensive position first, IMO. I'd be looking a new SS as early as next year if I were Steinbrenner.Comment
