    Padres
Is it time to start believing in the San Diego Padres. I have to admit, I wasn't a believer up until recently, but now I think they can hold on down the stretch. Tejada was a nice addition, and that pitching staff knows how to pitch. If they were in another division I would be as confident in them, but I don't see any of the other teams putting together a stretch that will allow them to pass the Padres unless they fall apart.

I beg to differ. All of those young arms will start to fatigue and they are slowly going to drop. They will be lucky to be in the playoffs. If anything starting yesterday I would start fading the Padres. Oddsmakers have already picked up on it.

Not sure about getting Tejada, though.

Not enough offense, but I'm not sure the Giants have enough either. Should go down to the wire.

Their upcoming August schedule seems easier than their September schedule:

August: 18 out of the 29 games will be against sub-.500 teams.
September: only 5 out of the 28 games will be against sub-.500 teams.

So, if they do go on a major skid, it will probably come in September rather than August.
