he had trouble getting loose. team docs examined him during game. MRI and X-rays scheduled first thing tomorrow. i couldn't find any news sources saying that he may be out for season, but with MRI and X-rays scheduled tomorrow, that's not an unreasonable leap to make, pending results.

i think that is why the news said "might". def not 100% that he is out for the year.

This is from Cbssportsline.com so take from it what you will........
News: Rookie sensation Stephen Strasburg has been scratched from his scheduled start for the Washington Nationals against the Atlanta Braves because he was having trouble getting loose in the bullpen. Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo says "there's no pain in the arm" and that it was his decision to have the right-handed pitcher sit out Tuesday night's game as a "precautionary move." Rizzo says Strasburg passed two doctors tests and an X-ray and MRI showed no damage, only inflammation in his shoulder. About a minute before the scheduled beginning of the game, the Nationals said Strasburg would be replaced on the mound by Miguel Batista. When that news was relayed to the crowd at Nationals Park over the loudspeakers, there were some boos from fans.

oh, absolutely. just saying that i looked around and the print news sources that i saw didn't mention "may be out for year," but maybe someone on local tv or radio said it. i did find a couple of things talking about how this was uncharted territory for him, pitch count wise, for season. with MRI and X-rays scheduled, i agree with you: he might be out, and there's no way we'll know tonight. at this point in the season, any injury at all could put a talent like that out for year, not much sense bringing him back in September.

If there is any sense that he could even have gas, they may shut him down. They wanted to shut him down anyways, and this just gives them a reason......good business in my opinion.

He's good. WSH's golden boy and treating him with kid gloves-nothing wrong with that. Cheers

This is too funny! Most on this board had him in the hall of fame after two games!
