Amazing how some people put so much stock into a 17-game sample spread over so many years. Now if the 18 games were over the last two years or so, then yeah it would be different because it would mean the teams see each other quite a bit each year. But the fact that we are looking at 3 or 4 games a year over so many different roister DOES make the streak pure luck and meaningless.

Only time you should consider such a stat is when just about the exact same team for both suited up all 17 times, since that certainly isnt the case cap this game as you normally would.

You actually just strengthened my point.

There is no logical reason for a streak like this considering the shift in power between these teams over the years and all the different rosters. So in the absence of a legitimate for the streak, it is by definition just variance (i.e., Luck).
