Done with the Marlins. MLB needs to step in and stop this farce. The Marlins are a farm team. They have let all there talent go. As soon as they emerge and require a good salary they trade off the talent . I.E. Miggy, Willis, Penny, Beckett, Lowe it goes on and on. The fans need to stop supporting this type of shiit. Look if MLB doesnt change then there should only be 6 teams . Nyy , La dodgers, Cleveland, Red Socks, Mets, Cards, and Detroit, maybe the Reds. Shut down all other teams. Baseball is a fvcking joke. Until there is a salary cap and profit sharing its gonna be the same crap every year. yeah, once in a while some bum fork team will make a run, but in the scheme of things its always gonna be the same shiit. Im done with Marlins. Jeff Luria is a piker who should have never gone into the ownership business.

This is frustrating. Im a marlins fan and i have no hope anymore unless they move the team.
For a second, i thought they were gonna move to my neighboring city of portland, but governmant came in and screwed it up..
basically a local tribe said they would build the stadium and fund all the portland schools academic budgets if they can build a casino outside of the portland city limits. City said no and im still pissed.

Marlins just send all there talent away every year. They still have a ton of young talent on that team, but look at all the all stars that left there recently. Mike lowell, Josh Beckett, AJ Burnett, Miguel Cabera, D Train, thats just off the top of my head.

if Santana goes to Bean Town, Yanks will make a move for Haren or Bedard.... nobody is panacking, Twins want too much for Johan from NY and if theyre gonna accept a sucker package not including Ellsbury or Buccholz for them then that sucks for Minny fans

Its a scandalous trade to make. Any fool can see they are getting the bad side of the bargain - so why not them?? spose the only thing i would say as well is - if the players do not want to play there anymore why keep them there - its sad for the fish cos this really limits their bargaining power.

The Marlins Have won two World series in Ten years. They Traded away all there players after the first and rebuilt to win another. They have top young players from the Tigers, Players they can afford and hope to make a run again in 2 years.
They shopped Carera around hard. The Angels thought they had a done deal and the Marlins recanted. I bet this is a good trade for both teams, Detroit NOW and the Marlins Later!
I still have to hold on to memmories of the Harvey Wall bangers of 82' and we came in second thanks to that Willie mcGee Guy!!!
This was the Best deal for the Fish.

Those players Florida got will be studs in a few years. The only problem is Florida will probably trade them away when they hit their prime in a few years. I would be disgusted if I were a Marlins fan.

As a Marlins fan yea it kind of sucks, use to it by now though. Even with their usual sell offs they have always been profitable to me through the years.

There is profit sharing in baseball.
This is a pretty good trade for both sides. Depends on the live arms they get obv.
I think the Tigers did well on this trade, I think they are going to be very tough in 2008.

trades
I'd really like to see a big trade where the national league does't lose good players but gets them. Who's gonna show up in the series if not?

The Marlins have won two more World Series since they came into the league than the Chicago Cubs have won in the last 100 years!
This is the Marlins business model (for lack of a better term). They build their team up via the draft with excellent scouting. The win. They sell off all their parts before the can cash in and make big bucks for quality minor league prospects. And they start the cycle over.
You don't have to like it, but it's hard to argue with the success they've had over the past 15 or so years. And by success, I mean the fact they've won two World Series.

One of the problems they the Marlins have is they don't have many fans. I believe their low water mark last season ws 384 paying fans.

I'm surprised the Tigers gave up Maybin - he had "successful future" written all over him.

I think it is pretty apparent that the Tigers want to win now.
