    5Dimes Over/Under Different Totals?
Does anyone ever play these? For example the o/u for a game might be 8.5 and juice is -115 for over and -105 for under. However, you can take over 9 or over 9.5 or under 8 and under 7.5. If you take the under 7.5 under the dropdown menu, you would probably get U 7.5 for +150. Or if you take the over 9.5, you get it for +130 or something like that.

Does anyone think playing these are a good idea? If you like an over for 8.5, taking it over for 9.5 only hurts you if it lands on 9. Yes there is a good chance that can happen but do you guys say doing this is better because of the juice? If it goes under the 8.5, u still lose your bet and might even be laying -110 or -105 but if you take the over 9.5 instead of 8.5, you only lose if it lands on 9.

    Is my logic wrong here?

If I'm not comfortable with the line @ regular juice, then I don't play it at all. Buying points is a waste IMO.

I do it from time to time I would bump from 8.5 to 9 or from 9.5 to 10 at plus money

I don't mean buying points. Like if you like the over 8.5 for -115 and then bet the over 7.5 for -160. I meant you taking the over for 9.5 and getting +130 or so. Yes gilbert that is what i mean. Do you think that is a good thing to do? If you bet an over, it only screws you if it lands on the exact number. However, if its an 8 for -110 and you take the over 9 for +145... then you get screwed if it lands on 8 or 9.

That's called selling points, and it's a good idea if you like your chances of winning.

you should track your results both ways, and test it yourself.

Use the half point calculator in the SBR tools to see if they're worthwhile.

you have to pay more vig usually for the alternate totals, so dont do it all the time but sometimes

If over 8.5 the line is -110. And the alternate total for over is 9.5... and let say juice is +130, are you saying you have to pay vig even though your getting plus money?

yes you are paying vig even if it plus money, the vig is the amount you pay from the middle of the two lines.

5d has reduced vig for totals, but you cant get reduced alternate lines

the juice for a half run usually too steep there but good that they offer the options

                                  absolutely
                                  but mostly in parlays
most i'll go is 1 run on a straight bet
what are nice are those special totals like under 3 or over 13 for big payouts
i always throw a couple pennies on those
taking that tampa game yesterday to over 9 saved me a few bucks

great advice, I have on totals in baseball to be the most difficult and the one run doesn't help at all, although i only tried if for a short period of time, maybe over a longer period of time it does have an advantage

I used to go backwards when I played at 5dimes. For example I really liked an under at 10, I would drop the juice down and get the game at 9.5. Good options to have.
