Now yesterday was a much better day for my picks. After slumping for a while, I went 2-0 yesterday with my posted picks. The Rangers destroyed Galarraga and the Tigers. I knew Hunter would pitch well and he did and the offense came to hit for Texas. My other pick I was worried about and when I went to bed the Giants were losing 5-1. I figured with Kershaw on the mound that the game was pretty much over. I woke up to see that the Giants came back and pulled it out. That made my morning which I needed. So today I am going to try to go with that streak and see what we can do. Today we have my favorite, which is day games so lets get started.
New York Mets and Arizona Diamonbacks under 8.5 (+105)
The Mets have suprised me after the all star break. Everyone was excited about Beltran coming back and the roster being at full strength for the first time all season. Well, it has been the opposite so far for them. The Mets have lost 8 of 10 games and only scored 12 runs during that span. They are about to get swept by Arizona and have only scored 4 runs and only 14 hits in this series so far. They have looked bad and they have had chances but cannot score with risp. They will face the person who was suppose to have been the ace in Dan Haren. Haren has not pitched well as of late, but he is 1-0 with a 3.77 era in 4 starts against the Mets in his career. The Mets send one of their young stars to the mound in Jonathon Neise. Neise who is 6-4 with a 3.44 era has lost 2 consective starts, but they were not his fault as he had a 2.45 era, but only got 1 run of support. He will be good again today against the Diamonbacks. I see this game playing out the way the others have like 3-2 or 4-3 type of game.
Toronto Blue Jays +164 over the Kansas City Royals
I could not believe this line, when I saw it. I thought Kansas City would be favored here, but more in the +110 range. I know the are sending their ace to the mound in Greinke, but wow there is value here. Toronto will send Rzepenski to the mound for only the second time of the season. He has no record and 5.40 era and has made a relief apparence once this season. The key here is that Toronto is starting to streak out of the all star break. They have won 4 of 5 and have averaged 6.8 runs per game since the break and homered in 13 straight games. They will face a tough challenge though today in Greinke. Greinke is 5-9 with a 3.67 era this season . He faced Toronto one time this year and earned a no decesion going 7 strong. He is coming off a bad outing against Oakland, where he gave 5 runs, 2 of them earned, 6 hits and 4 walks over 6 innings. This will probably be a low scoring game and if Toronto can get a couple early, this will swing their way. I love the price against the Royals.
Lets see if we can keep it going and win 2 more. Good luck today guys
