With the exception of 2 starts, Marcum has been real solid all year. His went on the DL after his last start.


HE had some NASTY stuff through 3 innings and ended the game with 7 strikeouts in just 4 innings. He ended up giving up 6 runs in the 4th inning, but a little more needs to be said about that start.

The umpire really was closing his strike zone in this inning. He walked the first 2 batters and then struck out the next guy. Then on a 1-2 pitch, makes one mistake and gives up a 3 run homerun.

I feel that he actually struck out the second batter of that inning that was issued a walk. So except for some bad luck, he could have had another solid start
