Yesterday, was a up and down day. I had two picks and the first one being the Rangers. I got them earlier so I actually got +109 on them. I could not believe that they were dogs on the road to Tim Wakefield. Any other pitcher in Boston, I would understand, but not Mr. Wakefield who has been terrible this year. He once again proved it is probably time to hang it up as they pounded out 6 runs in the first. That was all they needed in that game. The other game I took, I missed on. I had the Phillies and figure that Moyer could shut down the cubs. I was wrong. The cubs exploded yesterday and pounded the Phillies. The Phillies scored 6 and still lost by 6. Well, lets go for perfection today and see if we can win two out of two. Lets get to the picks.
Houston Astros and Pittsburgh Pirates over 8.5
I would wait on this line, because it looks like it could move down to 8 before game time and I don't see much of a risk of it moving up to 9 so its worth the wait. The Astros send Brent Myers to the mound who has been good this year at home, but terrible on the road. He is 1-6 with a 4.73 era on the road this season and he has not pitched well at PNC park, where he is 0-3 with a 4.76 era. The team has been hitting better now that their two best hitters in Carlos Lee and Lance Berkman have finally decided to start helping the team hit. The pirates send Zach Duke to the mound for his first start after coming off the disabled list. Zack was horrible before getting hurt going 0-4 with a 8.18 era and is hoping a return will be better. Both Berkman and Lee have had no trouble hitting Duke in their careers and that could be bad for him and the pirates. I am not a huge fan of either of these offenses, but you put the two together and with the pitching matchups, I like the over here.
New York Mets +112 over the San Francisco Giants
The Mets were shut out last night against the Giants, but that was Tim Lincecom and this is Barry Zito. Zito has not pitched well lately. He has only 1 win in his last 10 at starts and is 1-3 with a 5.19 era in that stretch. He is 0-2 with a 6.28 era against the Mets even though he has pitch better at home. The mets send Jonathon Neise to the mound who had his first loss in 7 starts even though he only gave up 3 runs in 7 and 2/3 inning against the Reds. He has pitched excellent this year going 6-3 with a 3.61 era. The mets should be at full strength tonight if Reyes returns. That would mean Reyes and Beltran in the lineup for the first time this season. Beltran went 1-4 in his debut yesterday. I like the pitching matchup here. I like the plus price so this game has some value.
Good luck tonight guys lets win some money
