    GiveMeaBJ's 2nd Half Plays & Thoughts
Just want to keep all my thoughts and plays in one area and try to track myself. With the second half kicking off tomorrow it is going to be interesting to see if the same teams and pitchers will be undervalued and making us all some money. I'm talking teams like the Braves, Reds, White Sox, and Padres. Pitchers like Gavin Floyd, Trevor Cahill, and Mat Latos.

Looking over Thursday now. Good luck everyone in the 2nd Half.

    Thought For Thursday
-The Rangers/Red Sox game is a pretty crazy game to bet on. Really a toss up on both the total and side in my opinion. The Rangers got the All-Star break at the perfect time during a little slump. While Tommy Hunter has been great in his seven starts it's really tough to bet him tomorrow. It's just his second start on the road and in the first one he was done after two innings with an injury. Wakefield is always good for an average start but he did get rocked earlier this year by the Rangers. Beleive it or not these two teams have a strong recent history of going under. It's just tough to pick any side or total in this one and feel comfortable about it. I'm passing unless I dig up something to sway me.

      Play for Thursday
-Braves vs Brewers- I have a feeling runs are going to be tough to come by in this one. The Braves have been having trouble scoring runs since Heyward went down. Since June 23rd they are just scoring about 3 runs per game. They have been pitching well too, the under is 3-12-2 in those games. On the Milwaukee side I am looking for good things from Bush. He got rocked against Minnesota for 7 runs but since then he has a 2.70 ERA in his last 9 games. On top of that we are coming out of the All-Star break and it may take a little for these hitters to get back in the groove. Three days off is a long time to not be thinking about baseball when you have been doing it since March. The Brewers and Braves have gone under 12 out of 18 times since 2008 when they meet.
      Play #1 Brewers/Braves u8.5 -105 risking 1.05 units

          Play #2 For Thursday
-Mets @ Giants- It's interesting just how far from the scarp heap Dickey has come. He has been great for the Mets who are starting to play better on the road and should get a spark from Beltran with or without Reyes in the lineup. It's just strange to me how people feel he is in a slump. He led the Mets to a 6-1 record in his first 7 starts and has lost the past three but hasn't pitched bad. The Marlins got to him for five runs but that will happen if your knuckleball doesn't show up for a night. In his past two starts hes given up 3 earned in 13.2 innings. Plus it has been very tough for teams to hit him who are seeing him for the first time. Not many players have seen a knuckleballer like him who can use his fastball to get outs too. He has two different knuckleballs and as long as they have movement (they didn't against Fla) then he should be fine. Lincecum doesn't concern me. He hasn't looked the same this year and isn't throwing as many strikes. He is still capable of great things but the Mets have gotten to him in the past. The Mets lost to him 6-5 earlier this year in a game he pitched well in over 7 innings but in his three starts prior to that the Mets were able to rough him up a bit. The Mets tend to do well against hard throwers. They beat up Verlander and did solid against Strasburg. If Lincecum has trouble locating his pitches again it will be a tough day. I have faith in the Mets and a lineup that presents Wright, Beltran, Pagan, Bay, and Davis is good enough for me.
Play #2- Mets +163 to win 1.63 Units

Yea I think it might be tough coming out of the All-Star break. It's only 3 days but still they probably want a few more days to sit home and might not be all that into it. Good luck.

Love Dickey. Might be a play from the heart but the Mets showed the capability to hit Lincecum. Think the Mets go on a run here with Beltran back.

                  Play #3 for Thursday
-Mariners @ Angels- Keep this one short and to the point. Piniero has been pitching very well and the Angels have owned Seattle. Piniero's ability to keep the ball down keeps the ball in the park which makes it tough for a soft hitting Seattle team to score. Fister has been bad lately giving up 17 hits in his last 14.2 for a 6.17 ERA in his last 3 starts. Seattle can't win on the road either.
Play #3 Angels -159 to win 1 unit

Thats it for tonight. Good luck to everyone.
