I know it's a shaky proposition with Andy Oliver on the mound, but I'm still taking the Tigers. I think they can hit Pavano enough to find a way and beat the Morneau-less Twins.

Andy Oliver isn't very convincing but Tigers are playing well and Twins not so much. Worth a deeper look.

You can also get the hottest team in baseball for + money at home, with the White Sox facing Greinke and the Royals. I'm on this as well.

Daniel Hudson is making his 2010 debut in place of Jake Peavy:
Anything close to what Hudson had been doing at Triple-A Charlotte will give the White Sox what they are looking for. Hudson was 11-4 with the Knights, posting a 3.47 ERA in 17 starts. In 93 1/3 innings he had 108 strikeouts with just 31 walks.
What could be of assistance to the fifth-round pick in 2008 out of Old Dominion is his brief big league experience that came when he pitched in six games for the White Sox last season, two of them starts. He went 1-1 with a 3.38 ERA in 18 2/3 innings.
"Last year, I said I was not afraid to pitch this kid at the big league level because I think he has good enough stuff; that's what I saw," Guillen said. "To me it's easier to judge people in Chicago than in spring training. When I saw him in Chicago last year, he was very effective, very good."

I would consider this, too -- not only are the Tigers and White Sox + money at home despite being red hot, but this is the last game before the All-Star Break. Big crowds, and players really wanting to get one more burst of momentum before the three-day layoff.

Be careful fading home teams on Sunday. Just my take.

Greinke is 1-7 with a 7.15 ERA in his career at U.S. Cellular Field.

A 1-1 day with the Tigers and White Sox at home would still produce a profit -- that's the point.

Yes, they look like traps on the surface. But let's put it this way: would you feel comfortable taking Pavano against the Detroit lineup right now given the fact that Morneau is out or backing Greinke with his history in Chicago against the hottest team in baseball?
