Baseball totals always have a way of playing tricks on us. The SPs for both teams in yesterday's game between these sides had a combined ERA of 3.5 in their L3 starts and the UNDER looked good at a total of 8. Today, the total is set at 8.5 but the SPs have a combined ERA of 15. Also given how Kazmir has been pitching lately, you'd think both A's ML and the OVER are gifts here. Folks, the books don't dish out money that way. A's struggle mightily vs. left-handed pitching, which is why Under is 6-0 in A's last 6 home games vs. a left-handed starter. To help matters, the UNDER is also 6-2 in Sheet's L8 home starts. Finally, this same match-up, at this same venue, with this same set total, yielded only 6 runs last month. Look for more of the same.
