Jeremy Guthrie has lost six of his last ten starts, compiling a 6.10 ERA in the process including a 4.1inning stint in his last outing in which he allowed six runs in a 9-3 loss to Boston.
Tommy Hunter has been fantastic at home in his 17 career starts with a 3.51 ERA and an 11-4 record.
Baltimore is 3-7 in their last 10 games, 20-46 in the last 66 versus a right hander and 7-19 in Guthries’s last 26 road starts. Texas is 16-5 in their last 21 versus a right hander, 24-9 in the past 33 home games and 5-0 in Hunter’s last 5 home starts.
Guthrie has one of the better arms on the Baltimore staff but seems to always have one or two bad innings or make a bad pitch at inopportune times. Hunter has exceeded expectations by coming off the DL and dominating up until this point. Guthrie might give the Orioles a solid chance at stealing one but I find it hard to back this team in this spot...
