While he wasn't the greatest offensively, he was a gold-glove caliber catcher behind the plate. He's a great defensive leader and captain. He knows how to command a pitching staff as good as anyone in the game. Giants will miss that leadership from behind the plate. But with this new kid putting up big numbers already, I guess his defensive deficiencies are allowed to be overlooked a bit.
