Yesterday, was a real heartbreaking day. My two picks were ok. I went 1-1 with the Oakland game just getting under. I was worried considering it was 5-1 in the 4th inning, I thought no way this game is going under. The Angels Weaver pitched ok, but it was not enough to beat the White Sox and I figured they would score a few more runs, but I was wrong. The real heartbreaker came when I was first in the run contest all day yesterday. I was something like 8-1 when I went to bed. I look at all my opponents and the only two games I had left were Arizona +1.5 which I figured was a loss and St. Louis +1.5 amd I was up 9-3 in the ninth inning so I went to bed thinking I had won. I wake up to see I lost and that Colorado scored 9 runs in the 9th to win 12-9. Really? That is unbeleavable. Not only did they score 9 runs, but even as the home team, they beat the run line of +1.5. Wow, that is when you know it is not meant for you to win anything. What A disaster this St. Louis team and my luck is sometimes. Oh Well, on to todays games and picks.
New York Mets and Cincinnati Reds under 8.5
Neise has been awesome for this mets this year going 6-2 with a 3.62 era, but more importantly after returning from the disabled list he is 5-0 with a 2.43 era. The reds offense can be a good one and times, but at times like yesterday they can be shut down with good pitching. I don't feel they will be able to get more then 3 runs off of Neise. Arroyo for the Reds is 8-4 with a four era. He has been pitching well as of late also. He shut out the cubs in his last start going 6 strong innings. He also had a shutout last year at Cit Field and is 6-2 with a 3.54 in his career against the Mets. The Mets offense was sparked yesterday by Santana hitting a homerun. They couldnt get anything going against the pitcher Moloney. I don't think today will be any different. I think they will struggle to put runs on the board with makes this under look good.
Florida Marlins -128 over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Well, I think one of the best pitchers in the major league is on the mound tonight for the Marlins. Josh Johnson has been sensational for them this year. Johnson is 8-3 with a 1.82. He goes to the mound every night with a quality start. He has had 15 of those in a row. It is a shame to lose three games actually with that era, but the Marlins just have not gave him run support. Kuroda could be the answer to the Marlins low scoring games. He was beat up last game and gave up 6 runs in a 1.2 innings of work against Arizona. Before that he had pitched well though. Quite Honestly I feel both offense are not that good. I see a small juice on one of the top 3 pitchers in the league and I am going roll with them at this price.
Good luck to all today and hope their is no 9 run comeback losses today for you guys.
