is 1-18 (-16.3 Units) against the money line vs. a starting pitcher whose gives up 5.5 or less hits/start this season. Baltimore has done very little well this season, and playing on the road (9-32, -17.0 units) and at night (16-42, -21.8 units) have been two of the worst situational spots.

Factors on my over 7.5 KC/Seattle play:

Rowland-Smith has allowed four or more runs eight times in 14 starts this season, and as he showed in a recent start against Milwaukee, things can come unhinged for him all in the course of one inning. In that start, he threw three scoreless innings and was staked to a 3-0 lead, but he allowed two homers in a four-run fourth, and that was that.

- Kansas City has allowed four or more runs in 28 of 44 road games this season.
- The Royals have allowed four or more runs in 11 of Greinke’s 17 starts this season.
- Greinke is 3-0 in his last four starts, but he’s got a 3.60 ERA in that span, and he posted a 4.81 ERA in six June starts.
- Greinke actually has a better ERA on the road (3.39) than he does at home (4.59), but he’s 1-5 on the road, as opposed to 3-3 at home.
- In his last three road starts, Greinke has a 5.14 ERA. He’s allowed 13 runs in his last three road starts (12 earned).
- Greinke has allowed at least one home run in seven of his nine road starts. On the other hand, he’s allowed homers in only three of eight home starts.
- The Royals are 1-4 in the game following an extra-inning win, and they’ve allowed seven or more runs in three of those defeats.
- Last night’s 10-inning loss was Seattle’s eighth extra inning loss of the season, and there’ve been totals of 11, 9, 9, 16, and 11 in five of the games that followed those first seven losses.
- The total has been eight or more in six of Seattle’s last 10 games.
- And then there’s the bullpen factor. Seattle’s bullpen has had its share of struggles this season, and those struggles cropped up again last night. If Rowland-Smith doesn’t stay in at least six innings, then there’s a more than fair chance that this one will be over well before it’s over.
