When are Lineups Official in Baseball
When does the batting order become OFFICIAL? In the NBA as far as I know the information becomes official just minutes before tipoff. Any projected lineups by Don Best or Sports Options are just blind guesses pretty much. Is this different in baseball?

Lineup card to umpire makes it official, DonBest is good source for this though.

When do they normally give the ump the lineup card in bases, and more importantly when do we learn what it is?

In hoops I think they submit the starting lineups maybe 5 or so minutes before the game but we don't learn the lineup generally until just 2 or so minutes before the game (at least I never do).

        TY!

They hand it to the umpire a few minutes before the game starts. You can sometimes find team lineups before game if you dig. Check the teams local papers, radio stations, espn feed, etc. etc. type of thing.
