I've been having good success with over/under plays the last few weeks. I've decided to solely focus on hitting this at a nice clip. Should really be called the "under" project, as it sems 80% of my total plays fall as unders.
1) Oakland (Braden) @ Baltimore (Matusz) - UNDER 8.5
Risking $125 to Win $100.
A couple reasons I like this game to stay under. Dallas Braden has been unreal lifetime against the O's. Over 38.1 innings, he has only given up 6 earned runs (1.41 ERA), while holding the Orioles to only 2 HR's, and a measley .173 average. The most staggering numbers are Adam Jones at 1-13 and Markakis at 2-15, then Scott/Wieters/Patterson combined are 3-21. I think its safe to say why I think Baltimore has trouble scoring runs tonight.
Brian Matusz has been showing flashes of potential, but sprinkles in starts where he really gets knocked up. His numbers are better home, with the opposition hitting .263. His K:BB ratio is almost 3 to 1 at home, but the 11 home runs in 7 home starts have killed him. The good news is Oakland is in town, and only have more HR's (50) then Seattle in the American League.
Finally, both teams had off days yesterday, allowing the bullpens to rest up. Oakland's has been solid all season and Baltimore's has really turned the corner and been integral to their .500 play the last 2 weeks.
