Keep this Broxton outing in mind
I watched Nathan do this last year, and he was never the same. He had like a 53-pitch outing at Kansas City in the middle of the year, and really struggled from that point on. Now he's on the shelf after major surgery.

Torre deserves to get lit up for this -- a non-save opp., leaving his star closer out there to rot. Pathetic. Use this as a tool when Broxton pitches again in the immediate future.

I was thinking the same thing, these closers aren't that mentally stable to begin with and when you mess with their routine, they get off their game. I still can't believe the Dodgers blew this game, going to lose my play on them and feel bad for the starter, guy had a solid outing and has nothing to show for it.

I have Kershaw and Broxton on my fantasy team, ICE, and the guy I'm going against has Mo and Cano.

Are you saying that Broxton will probably have a bad run? Does this normally happen with closers?

might be one of the best games i have seen in ages.. i think i am only saying this because i was on NYY and marked game as a loss when we were down 6-2 in the 9th with 1 out no one on.. i am sure if i was on LAD, i'd be saying worst game i'd ever seen.. so i think i am being bias here. but what a game.. what a comeback.. tonight,i have become a yankee fan for life.

I was on Yankees RL. When I checked the score it was 8-6 in the bottom of the tenth. Never knew I was in trouble until I looked a little closer.

1st - Joe Torre is an absolute butcher when it comes to managing a bullpen, this is nothing new (who knows what would have happened if he hadn't had the luxury of having the Best closer of all time closing for him).

2nd- on the Nathan Issue, whether or not that outing had anything to do with his injury, who knows, but he pitched just fine after that; 20IP, 16saves, 27K, 11BB, 7ER( 4 of those coming in one outing)

Maybe but if they give him a few days rest he should be fine.

He did it again. Over 40 pitches, allows three runs to score.

Runner on second, one out, Dodgers up 4-2. In comes Broxton.

I think Torre betting against his own team. Remember few weeks back when they play with Yanks at home on Sunday night. Dodger was up something like 9-4 going 9 inning, Torre keep that fat ass broxton for something like 50+ pitches or so, Yanks end up tired the game, and won 13-9 in extra innings.

If you want to butcher the LAD managing for anything, it's allowing Kershaw to get tossed. What's more important, winning the game or stroking the overgrown egos of your players? Maybe SF comes back and wins the game anyway, but that was an idiotic move.
