    Huddy -119 vs. Strasburg
Really want to fade the kid in this spot for a big number. You get a legitimate veteran ace pitching for the best home team in baseball against a vastly inferior overall opponent and have to pay very little juice in doing so.

yes all have except for the cleveland start, nats won 9-1. however there offense is a different beast right now.

i will be on the under as well tomorrow, 3-1 overall in his starts.

This is tough as well as the Braves and Hudson have been playing. However I can't go against Strasburg either. Might be making a small play on the under.

Wow, that's it? -119 for the best home team in baseball with their ace?

Take it all the way, but I'll hope for some action on NAts before making my play, squares are crazy about this kid.

all of a sudden the kid is an underdog and not -400 and people jump ship. the nats just got swept by the best in baseball, the orioles, so they'll be hungry tonight on national tv. good luck!

I think the under is the play here...

Nats have been horrible of late, but Straus will keep them in the game.

Under is a great move here, it's opened at 7 at Vegas books. It'll be 4-2, 3-2, 5-0 Braves for sure. something like that.

Gavin Floyd outdueled him.... The nats run is over.... they "might" get to 70 wins if they are lucky.

Im with ya buddy. All over the Braves. I learned the hardway this weekend that the Nationals are NEVER the play. Thought I had money in the bag both Friday and Saturday, only to see them squander a 6-0 lead Fri and a 5-0 lead Sat to the lowly Orioles.

Now you have the Nats facing a veteran pitcher, throwing great at home with the best home team in baseball. Too much for Strasburg to overcome.

i have a very hard time calling a guy with a 45/37 K/BB ratio in 99 ip an ace. his 2.54/1.16 era/whip should see a big time correction in the 2nd half.

i dont see any reason in fading strasburg - why put yourself through the torment as he likely dominates another lineup? and the nats pen is just as good as the braves...

When capping this game, you have to think about the public. They will be all over Strausburg as a dog. Hudson and under are the plays.

Hudson pitched 7 innings and gave up 2 runs against Washington last time. So, Washington wins 2-1 or 2-0 today !!!!!

                                                        A) Hudson's never been a high-K pitcher. 37 BB in 99 IP is high for him, and yes, he's due for a correction. But he's the best the Braves have, and their lineup is more than good enough to back him up.

                                                        B) The Nats' bullpen is not as good as Atlanta's. The Braves' pen is 16-7 with a 3.39 ERA; Washington's is 14-19 with a 3.51 ERA. Wagner's much better than Capps (speaking of due for a correction).

Atlanta is 26-8 at home. Washington is 13-27 on the road. I'm not saying Hudson's better than Strasburg, necessarily, but in this spot, I like the play. If Atlanta were in the -150/160 range, I'd pass.

Atlanta down to -110. Might even be a dog by gametime. Wait for the number; public hammering Strasburg as expected.

Some thoughts from a Nats season ticket holder since the franchise moved from Montreal to DC in 05. Keep in mind these are my pure unscientific observations based on watching this team day in day out for the last 5 seasons and that I continue to write a check each year for the "privilege" of sitting in summertime DC humidity for 70+ games to watch a roster full of AAA (at best) players find new and innovative ways of losing games. Basically what I'm saying is that I'm an idiot and don't wager your rent money on anything I say.

Strasburg is good. People like to nit pick that he has faced some weak lineups in the Pirates and Indians and that he hasn't been really tested yet. The Royals lineup that he faced in his last outing is one of the better hitting lineups in MLB so far this season and it showed as Strasburg gave up around 9 hits. The thing to remember though is he only gave up one run and it came from a batter (Guillen) who was behind in the count and who had been completely dominated by Strasburg up to that point. With runners on base, Strasburg looks to be throwing more of his off speed pitches that have significant movement and are difficult for batters to get good contact on. The result has been a lot of ground balls and only a few runs.

The top of the Nationals lineup produce in what can be described as hot/cold fashion. It's either absolutely unstoppable for a couple of series or worthless for a couple of series. The multiple 8 plus game losing streaks that the Nationals have had in the last two seasons have come when multiple players at the top of the lineup experience these cold streaks at the same time. The Nats did hit well on Friday night but the rest of the series was more of the cold hitting that has been going on now for the last four series. They will break out at some point but its unlikely to be against Hudson who has owned the Nationals going 8-1 with a 1.62 ERA over 14 starts.

The Nationals bullpen is showing some cracks that could be seen as an indication of fatigue or more likely a regression to their expected performance this season. The bullpen was not good going into the season and the amount of innings that Clippard and Capps have pitched is not helping at the moment. With Starsburg still on a pitch count, expect the bullpen to start being a factor in the game as early as the sixth inning.

Bottom line- The probability of Strasburg, Hudson, and the Nationals cold lineup to keep runs to a minimum is very good. With the total at 6 1/2 its best to take the Nationals bullpen out of the equation and go with the 1H under 3 1/2.

                                                                  My Pick- 1H Under 3 1/2 -110
