    Sunday Night MLB
    Houston @ Texas

    Tommy Hunter (3-0, 2.31 ERA)
    Roy Oswald (5-9, 3.08 ERA)

Hunter has gotten to an excellent start after not making his season debut for the Rangers until three weeks ago.

He’s allowed only six earned runs in 23.1 IP thus far, and he also has a solid 16:6 K:BB ratio and has allowed only 19 hits and six walks thus far.

Three of Hunter’s four starts have come at home, and he’s 3-0 with a 2.14 ERA in those three starts.

The Rangers have allowed three runs or less 13 times in 24 June games.

The Rangers have allowed four runs or less 24 times in 39 home games this season.

Oswalt hasn’t had a great deal of luck this season, when he has fared far better on the road than he has at home. He’s 1-8 with a 3.98 ERA in 10 home starts, but he’s 4-1 with a 1.50 ERA in five road starts.

Oswalt has allowed no more than two runs in any of his five road starts this season.

13 of Oswalt’s 15 starts this season have been quality starts, including all five on the road.

Houston’s bats have actually done a better job of giving Oswalt run support on the road, but it’s not saying much. The Astros have scored 19 runs in his five road starts (3.8 runs per game), while they’ve scored all of 23 runs in his 10 home starts (2.3 runs per game).

The Astros have scored only 16 runs in Oswalt’s nine losses. Of those nine losses, Oswalt had quality starts in seven of them.
Throw in two pitchers who are pitching very well and mix in an Astros offense that seems to be allergic to the ball when Oswalt is on the mound= playing on the total....

    under 9

    NY Yankees @ LA Dodgers

Andy Pettitte (9-2, 2.48 ERA) has been superb in his 5 road starts sitting with just an ERA of 1.96 and those numbers were mostly generated against American League teams using a DH.

The veteran hurler has allowed no more than 2 earned runs over his past 3 starts.

Clayton Kershaw (7-4, 3.24 ERA) is coming off a bad effort at the LA Angels allowing 5 earned runs in 6 2/3rd innings worked.. Kershaw has pitched well in eight interleague starts, going 2-2 with a 2.91 ERA. He has never faced the Yankees..
