I THINK I figured out why the books didn't move the line much AND why it smelled like a trap. It's because French hasn't pitched enough in the majors for there to be a scouting report out on him. Hitters can struggle against people who have less than 100 innings and who don't have enough advanced scouting on them. I think the books gladly took action on the Cardinals because they follow that line of thinking in that French has a chance as long as he doesn't lose his cool against the middle of STL's order (which he just did 15 minutes ago hahaha)
