I wish I could lost the FLA RL sooner, so I could have put more money on this game.

The Braves appear to be the real deal and they're doing this without Jurrjens. How are they going to put Medlen back in the bullpen the way he's been pitching?
I guess it's a good problem to have.
The Dodgers on the other hand need to make some changes. Loney and/or Dewitt need to go. You can't have the right side of your infield with a combined batting average of .275 and a combined four home runs. Martin too while I'm cleaning house.
But I realize this is a Bravos thread so let me give props. Atlanta is rolling...good job!

Yeah SK that Fish RL sucked. Damn Nunez! Was actually just looking to bet ATL First inning score (which I did. This makes 8 games in a row where they have scored in the first!). Digging deeper into this game I became more bullish on the ATL ML +125 (was even thinking of taking them at -1.5 for +180...couldn't pull the trigger on that one though) I locked it in especially when it looked like the Fish weren't going to run away with the RL. Anyhow, game isn't over so hopefully I didn't fyckn just jinx it!

How long does everyone think the Braves hold on to 1st place?? I ask this as a skeptical fan. I've been through heartache many many....many times over the years with them.

I really don't think the game should have been as close as it ended up. Although Medlen's PC wasn't super high and he was pitching a fine game, this was the first game of the season that he went as far as he did. I think 7.1 innings was just too much for the kid against a Dodger offense that can come alive when you least expect it, and that's what happened. They should have pulled Medlen in the 7th at the latest. I think they went into the 7th with the idea that they would pull him if any of the batters he faced got on base. Medlen happen to get a 1-2-3 inning facing the heart of the Dodger lineup and THIS led to ATL not pulling him at the end of 7, and you saw what happened. The kid hasn't gone past 6.1 all season, and he's only gone this far once all year. Aside from Moylan (who really didn't pitch bad), O'Flaherty, Saiton and Venters closed the game out really well. Gave a little sweat, but they pitched well overall to get the win.
So with that said, I think this ATL team can stay on top if they are smart with their pitching rotation. Their offense has been on fire so it will be up to their starters to get them deep enough into the later innings. However, this cannot be to the detriment of their starters arm/experience, as we saw today. They need to have faith in the bullpen.
