Yeah, it will be interesting to see what happens. There is some talk of scoring the play an "error" but then it would give Galaragga a no-hitter and not a perfect game because you can't remove the at-bat from the Indian's leadoff hitter who came up to hit after the blown call...

        STUPID STUPID STUPID

Get an instant replay in there. Managers can use it twice per game. How hard is that?

Unless he's reversing the call, what's the point of a statement?? Anything else is asinine.

Apparently there are 3 options he can institute within 24 hours to overturn an error, assuming that the ump called the runner out on an error (that would obviously be a false assumption, but it could be used) ... Others have wrote about it in this forum I forget what they are

None of the options save the perfect game. We'll see what happens.

who cares? If they give him the perfect game like this, what's to stop them from changing umpires decisions about other questionable calls? They need to implement an instant replay rule that makes sense. Once the game is over, it's over. But while the game is ongoing, the umpires need to realize that they are not infallible and try to rely on replay on close calls.

Exactly. Even if they go back and make some change it's still tainted. I reaaaally hope this leads to a replay rule.

Shit happens in life. This is how the game has been played for decades. There is no need for a statement, or an apology or instance replay. Controversy is good for entertainment.

                            Here's Bud statement:

"When I got into the office this morning, I had 6,183 voicemails, all of them asking me what I was going to do about the Galaragga situation. At least, this is what my secretary told me; I don't know how to get voicemails. At any rate, I thought Andres Galaragga had been out of baseball for a number of years now, so I guess I'd better go find out what he's done. When I find out, I'll let you know what I think about it. I should have a decision before 2014."

He already made his statement and said he will not reverse the decision.

So, Selig did absolutely nothing. That's a huge surprise.
