I'm still confused why a balk was called, too, but no one argued it or even asked for an explanation. I think maybe he didn't come to the set position before stepping off the rubber. Either way, I'll take it. As a bettor. I don't give a crap if the game is fair or not. I just want to win. If there is a screwjob and I'm on the right side, I'm happy. But I think this was the correct call.

Funny thing about it, is that none of the umpires called a balk until Larry Bowa and Casey Blake starting jumping around and yelling like monkeys.

I've seen the replay several times now and I've yet to see the balk.

Whatever, the game's over and nothing can be done about it now. Bad beat for all Arizona backers.

As a baseball fan, I hate seeing games end like that...

He needs to get the firing line, he's not even close to the worst umpire. Angel Hernandez, Hirshbeck, CB Buckner, Joe West are all worse.

The Arizona manager said it was clearly the CORRECT call.
