big angels fan here too.....Vlad was hurt last year and in 350+ ab's he hit 15 hr and drove in 50 - numbers that projected out well given he was battling injury. In the playoffs he actually hit well, not for power, but hit for average.
i think Reagins gave up on him and felt he could dump him with little fan backlash which came true. we got Matsui but keeping Vlad would have been better - who knows what went on with salary numbers but seems like Angels weren't interested from the beginning.
loved Vlad too - wish he was here and everytime i see he hit another it hurts

has a lot to do with injuries, and that ballpark lots of guys have their resurgence in arlington or put up better numbers than their abilities indicate (matthews and bradley come to mind).

I was more upset about losing figgins and Lackey. But they are both sucking now.
