Mets, Phillies and a BROOM with a view ++
I did a preview of this game for the SBR Forum front page and I did some additional research on the game this morning. I"m even more convinced the Mets and Pelfrey are the play. I'm also going to put a little on the UNDER as well.

    Good luck.

P.S. I told you John Ely of the Dodgers is a STUD. With any run support he's 4-1 instead of 3-2. As it that's not a bad record and there's certainly no reason to hang your head ESPECIALLY when you work seven innings, allow four-hits and just one-run. Plus, there's no discrace in losing to Ted Lilly.

    Harvey,

There is no doubt that Ely is a stud, as a lifelong Dodger fan, I am always set up for disappointment. Hopefully he stays on for next year and stays as consistent, minus the lack of run support.

P.S. Nice call on the baseball game

Nice call on the game today-great double play there. I'm leaning Mets tomorrow to keep things rolling too.

BTW, I was on Ely and LA today and they definitely should have pulled that one off. Lilly was out of his mind today, but LA coulda woulda shoulda today. 9 LOB and the circus goes to right field.

Oh well, a 3-1 3+ unit day so I'm not complaining

          CC,

Thanks and back at you man. You've had back-to-back 3-1 days as I recall. What do you like on Friday's card? I'm thinking the Rockies probably tee off on Monasterios and the Dodgers. Colorado is 8-2 last ten AND the Dodgers have owned them (13-4 last year and 2-1 this year). I'm thinking a measure of payback begins tonight with Francis on the hill.

Other than that I like the Mets to stay hot in Milwaukee. That pitching staff is on an unreal run right now and as you know from your Minor League experience that pitching feeds off pitching.

Go get 'em and whatever direction you go good luck...and congrats again on that nice 6-2 streak you've got going.

            DL,

I just hope they don't trade him for Oswalt or Lee. The White Sox made a mistake letting him go. I hope the Dodgers aren't going to make the same mistake.

Kind of a P.S. to this...Ely grew up a White Sox fan about 20 minutes from downtown Chicago. It's funny how he realized his dream to pitch for the Sox but never really got a fair shot. His loss is LA's gain. Lets hope the Dodgers do something this weekend in Colorado. San Diego doesn't look they're going to fade so Torre' needs to make sure they stay close.

            GL this weekend!!!

IE.... I hate to say it but dissapointment a way of life for Dodger fans. Occasionaly we get lucky: Eithier, Ely, etc. But it seems like for every positive move like the two above there's an Andruw Jones or Manny Ramirez or (fill in the blank).

Someones also got to explain to me WHY Jon Garland wasn't resigned? Or Randy Wolf?

I mean it's worked out okay with Eli but if you had either Wolf or Garland (or both) you'd have a damn good rotation. Not Padres or Giants good but good. I don't get it.
