He has been great this year, noticed he handed in a request of transfer. How does it work? When can somebody sign him? And who?

#2He's not a free agent. He can only be traded. Houston doesn't have to trade him if they don't want to and there's not much Oswalt can do about it.Originally posted by diamondHe has been great this year, noticed he handed in a request of transfer. #4I'd be very happy if the Mets traded for him. Most pitchers are streaky to some extent.Originally posted by tltaylor89Nobody wants a streaky

#5Oswalt is under contract to the Astros for this year @15m, 2011 @ 16M and 2012 @16M club option (or a 2M buyout)Originally posted by Andy117He's not a free agent. He can only be traded. Houston doesn't have to trade him if they don't want to and there's not much Oswalt can do about it.
The market for Oswalt will be thin, his contract is awfully big and only a few high payroll teams can take him on;Comment -

#8several teams could use him, part of his "streaky" play has to be the team he's on. It would have to be one of the big money clubs. but many would want.Comment -

#9I can only see three teams in the running for him Angels, Mets and Dodgers - I can't see where any other contending team will be willing to add that much payroll this/next year.Comment -

#12His win loss ratio has dropped off because he doesn't get any run support. His ERA this season is 2.66 and his lifetime ERA is 3.21. Even if Houston couldn't get a big market team to bite, they could probably get some top prospects from a middle market team by eating some of his salary. No pun intended.Comment -

#21He's not streaky. Quit looking at his won-loss record and look at his era. The Astros suck on offense and they give him the worst run support of any team more or less out there.Comment -
