#5I don't think he'll be a first ballot HOF'er, but I think he'll eventually get in. For a decent sized chunk of time, he was one of the best players in the game.Comment -

#9yeah he's the last of the breed in that respect.
and how about this:
bobby cox drafted chipper as the braves GM in 1990, then managed him for his whole career. chipper has a no name agent and has taken pay cuts to help the braves payrollComment -

#10He's a great player. He's a class act (at least on the field). He's basically been the leader of the team for the past 10+ years.
He's been my favorite player since his first big league swing. The last two years have been rough, but that's part of life.
If he doesn't get in by his 2nd ballot I'd be shocked.Comment -

#14Chipper Jones would have to be a hall of famer in my opinion. Probably not the first time, but I would say yes. See how he finishes up his career.Comment -

I definitely agree. I watched Chipper his entire career and I think he is deserving especially since his numbers were produced as a swith hitter and he is in the top 2 or 3 switchhitters statistically to ever play......ALL that being said....Chipper Jones is not a first ballot guy for me. He needs to sweat it out for a few years maybe get in on the 7th or 8th time around. He is more imo in the hall of the very damn good instead of the hall of fame. He is kinda in between for me.Comment -

Yea, we love him for sure but he is done. He is only hitting around .230 dating back to last summer. That is not a slump. That is just who he is now. A 38 yr old washed up has been that is the worst fielding 3rd baseman in the big leagues now. Chipper needs to retire along side Bobby when the season's over. They came in together and it's only fitting they leave together. Honestly, the Braves are better without him now. Chipper was one of my all time favorites but it's time to face fact.. He is usefullness is over and at 14 Million a year over the next 3 yrs is sinful. Him and Derek Lowes contract are killing Atlanta. 30 MIL a year going to 2 average big leagers at best.Comment -
