The Toronto Blue Jays have the AL's best record this month, but they head to Safeco Park where winning has not come easily, posting a 3-7 record in the last 10 meetings there, however, the road has been a money maker for the Blue Jays thus far posting a 14-5 record in hostil territory. Toronto will hope to keep the game streak going as they sed Ricky Romero to the hill. Romero had his first career shut-out in his last start while fanning 12 batters in that outing. His last 3 starts have been quality starts holdig an era just under 4.00 posting a 2-0 record and averages over 9Ks a game in that 3 game span. Romero has a 1-0 record in 4 starts, But Toronto has won 3 of his last 4 road starts losing only to the Mighty Rays. The Left-Hander pitched well against the Rays allowing only 2 runs off 6 hits in 7 innings. Overall The Blue Jays have won 6 of Romero's 8 starts with a 5rpg support and over 7rpg in his last 3 starts. Romero is 1-0 in two career starts against the Mariners and a a very reliable bullpen who has been dominate and closed out games to profection posting a 6-2 record ont he road with only 4 out of 15 blown saves (75.5%). Jason Vargas will counter for Seattle hoping to snap the 5 game losing streak his team is one. Thsi will be his first career start against the Jays. Vargas has been very solid. He held the Angels to 4 hits and 1 unearned run in 7 innings, and pitched 7 scorless innings against the Rays on Saturday, However, he did give up two base hits to the Rays that evntually scored and the Mariners lost 2-3. Vargas has allowed 3 runs o less in all of his starts this year. Seattle is 3-1 at Safeco whn he takes the hill, The Left-Hander is also 3-1 at home this year with an era of 2.00. Dispite the good pitching that Vargas is doing, overall the Mariners are only 3-4 behind him. Settle only scores just over 3rpg for him an just over 4 at Safeco. The Blue Jays are winning with offense and keads the majors in homers at 65, 108 doubles with a good offense and a good reliable bullpen can't ignore the price that I'm getting for Romero with the run support he gets.

AFTERNOON GAME 2
Minnesota has not lost consecutive games to the Red Sox, at home in more than nine years, but the Twins can't seem to snap their skid at Fenway where their last victory was a 3-2 win back in 07. Minnesota lost by that same score on Wednesday to the Red Sox. They have lost 4 of their last 6 road games on this trip. Minnesota will hope to get back on track and snap their losing streak at Fenway as they send Fransisco Liriano to the hill. Liriano went 0-2 last year against the Red Sox with a 13.50 ERA, But pitched a beauty at home this year against the Red Sox going 7 innings in an 8-0 victory for the Twins, improving his career stats to 1-2 with a 7.20 ERA against the Sox. The Left Hander started this year out pitching very well going 5-0 with 3 of those 5 games being 7+ inning shut-out games and allowed just 3 runs in the other two games, But his last 3 it has shown that his quality starts have dropped going 0-2 with the Twins dropping both of those starts ( One game was suspended due to rain). On the road, Liriano is 2-1 with a 3.00 ERA and 4-2 overall for his record.
Jon Lester will counter Liriano for Boston. he was not only shacky in his first three outings but it has een a shaky career for Lester against the Twins posting an 0-2 record in four career starts. Dispiyr not getting the win in his last start, he didn't do bad allowing 4 runs off four hits ina Boston 6-7 loss in Detroit. The lefty has shown much improvement in his last 3 starts postinga 2-0 record witha 2.86 ERA. When pitching at Fenway he is 2-1 with an ERA just under 4.00. The red Sox have won 3 of Lester's 5 starts in Boston. Lokk for the Red Sox to keep this 2 game winning streak going as the once 5-0 Liriano is now slumping with his team at 4-9 in their last 1 contest against the Sox.

GAME 3 EVENING GAME
The Giants matched a franchise worst with 6 homers allowed while giving up a season high 13 runs in their series opener at Arizona. Tim Lincecum will take the hill for San Fransisco. The Two-time Cy Youn winner has not allowed a homer in nine career starts against Arizona going 5-1 with a 1.87 ERA and acked up 82Ks in 67 1/3 innings. Lincecum is again pitching like one of the leagues best, However the Giant's bullpen have blown 2 of Lincecum's last 3 starts putting him at a 1-0 record in his last 3 starts but has an ERA of just 2.57 in those 3 starts. He is 5-0 on the season overall with 1.76 ERA. Lincecum has not given up more than 3 runs all season long and 2 runs of less in 6 of his 7 starts this year. San Fransisco has won 7 of his 8 starts this year. The Right-hander is 2-0 on the road with the Giants winning all four of his starts. Lincecum has not face the Diamondbacks this season but is 5-1 in nine career starts aginst them with a 1.87 ERA. Arizona will counter with Rodrigo Lopez. If he pitches like he did in his last start for the D-Backs he will be able to match ole Timmy Boy as Lopez allowed just 1 run off 7 hits in 8 innings of an 11-1 win over the Braves. His last 3 starts have been quality starts from Lopez posting a 1-1 record with a 2.86 ERA, But Arizona has dropped 2 of hs last 3 starts because of poor performances by the D-Backs bullpen. Arizona's relievers have a 7.90 ERA, nearly 2 rns worst than any other club in the MLB, A big reason the team is in last place. Arizona's sluggers Mark Reynolds is 2-16 with 10Ks and Chris Young has gone 2 for 27 with 10Ks agianst Lincecum, But there has to be some concern for Lincecum when Justin Upton comes to te plate as he is 6 for 20 with 2 doubles and a triple (.300). Adam Laroche is the only one on the D-Backs roster with a homer against Lincecum but it is his only hit at 6 at bats against him. Even the red hot Kelly Johnson is 1 for 14 against Lincecum. the Diamond Backs leads the NL in with 53 homers and 2nd with 212 runs but out of all the heavy hitter on the D-Backs Upton is the one that has been a challenge for Lincecum, and that won't be enough for the D-Backs to in this one.

THE THURSDAY NIGHT CAPPER
San Diego beat the Dogers on Wednesday 10-5 for it's second win in three games after being swept in a three game set with Los Angeles. The NL-West leading Padres got a homer and a career high 6 RBI's from Adrian Gonzales. After losing to the Dodgers over the weekend, Kevin Correia will take the hill in hopes to redeem hisself from his last start (against the Dodgers) where he alowed 4 runs in 5 1/3 innings of a 4-1 loss. Infact it has been a rough last three starts for Correia posting a 1-2 record with an ERA over 6.00 with the Padres dropping 2 of his last 3 stats. Overall Correia is 4-3 with a 4.35 ERA. he has only made it past the 5 inning twice this season. He is 4-2 lifetime against the Dodgers with a 4.52 ERA. Clayton Kershaw will be the opposing pitcher for Los Angeles. His last start was a gem against San Diego pitching 7 innings giving up 1 run off three hit. It has been a decent season for Kershaw. Dispite his 3-2 record, He has allowed 3 runs or less in 6 of his 7 starts. The Dodgers have won 4 of his 6 starts. He is 1-0 this year against San Diego and 3-2 life time with a 2.76 ERA in 8 career starts against the Padres. Expect a similar performance from Kershaw as he will dominant the Padres as it was in Saturday's game.
