Uncle Willie's Next No-Hitter Contest (1,001 SBR Points)
    Next No-Hitter Contest
1,001 SBR Points Guaranteed Prize Pool

This Monday (May 17) marks the 47th anniversary of the first time I saw a major league no-hitter in person. When I saw my second one about four years later, I thought that they would become regular events in my life as a fan. As it turns out, I haven't seen another one since No. 2.

Wanted to do something to honor the anniversary of Don Nottebart's no-hitter at Colt Stadium on May 17, 1963. I really was one of the 8,223 offcial paying customers there. Well, actually my pop did the paying part.

So here's the little contest I've cooked up. For the rest of May you can submit one (1) name that you think will throw the next official Major League Baseball no-hitter (at least nine innings, complete game, no hits allowed).

You have to ante up one (1) SBR point.

As of 11:59 p.m. (ET) on May 31, no more entries. Obviously have to follow all normal SBR contest rules: one entry per household ... any edited posts are out, no refunds on your one-point ante.

If a no-hitter gets thrown between now and the end of May 2010, then the contest is obviously over and points awarded then. If at the end of the season there has not been another no-hitter, we'll take the prize pool and have a contest for all entries in the MLB playoffs to decide it.

Prize pool will be my 1,000 points plus everyone's ante. If multiple posters have the same pitcher BEFORE the no-hitter happens, then the prize pool will be divided equally (first poster to list the winner gets the 'fraction' point).

That's it, pretty cut-n-dried. But in case there are questions, please PM me or email willie[at]sbrnewsdesk[dot]com and put "no-hitter" in the subject line.

We'll keep this thread solely for the contest entries.
