With your current bankroll, your $15 target is way too high. If/when you lose the 3rd bet, you will not have enough money left to continue, which is why most martingale systems fail. You should target no more than 2% of your bankroll, thus you can take 4 losses, or more, between wins (depending on the odds). Its a long and tedious method, dealing with $3 dollar targets with $150 in the bank, but you will last longer. Good luck, but slow down. Don't focus on the $10K target at this stage, but focus on staying in the game.

Thanks Kev, I know I'm takin a big risk by going for $15 wins (which will increase as my bankroll increases) but it's worth a shot. This goal is also going to need some luck here and there so I'm willing to take the risk, so far so good. Thanks for the input!

Spartan, can you or someone else, explain to me how this system works.. i have heard/read about it many times .. but never indepth how the system is used...Or if you are short on time (who isn;t) maybe a link to a website that explains it.

I didn't read the whole thread but I'm assuming it's a standard Martingale System.

Full detail can be seen at the Martingale Wiki Page.

The brief version (the following is for even-odd situations. you have to do slight modifications for different odds):

You start with a bet of size X.
If you lose, you bet 2X.
If you lose, you bet 4x.
If you lose, you bet 8x.
etc.

If you win any of these bets, you end up winning X. If you lose all of your bets, you go bankrupt. The smaller X is in proportion to your bankroll, the greater chance of success you have (assuming you are playing a game with positive expected value).

Hey Grind, I've already met my financial goal for the month so I'm going to continue with the low betting amounts until June just in case I run into a losing streak. This is supposed to be a money management test for me just as much as a system test. If I make the goal well before December I might take you up on that offer!

Wow, what a finish to the Yanks/Sox game! I think I'm more excited about this game's finish then I am about the Rangers gettin' me another win.
