LaRussa knows McGwire the steriod king had no shot at anything else and did it out of mercy. I mean seriously, will any of the honest players on the team take anything he says seriously? The guy is a cheat. As for the poor play of recent, the Cards have some old guys on the team, poor pitching after the #1 and #2 spots, and poor bullpen. They go through a funk like this all the time off and on. I think allot of times they don't take teams seriously and think that theyy are going to win just because they are the St. Louis Cardinals.
