    Mlb wednesday
    GAME 1
Barry Zito will take the hill for the Giants. The Veteran laft-hander seeks to build on thebest April of his 11 year caree and contnue his dominance over the Florida MArlins posting a 4-0 life-time record against the fish. His ERA has been exceptionally well against the Marlins Life-time posting a 2.35 in the 5 career apperances. Zito is on his longest winning streak since his 6 game game winning streak back in 06. He lasted 8 innings for the 2nd straight game Friday, allowing 2 runs off 5 hits in a 5-2 home ein over the Rockies. Zito has only pitched 2 games on the road this season going 1-0 with an ERA of .68. The left-hander got a no decision in LA earlier this year but threw a gm pitching over 7 innings givin up 1 run off 4 hits ina 1-2 loss.
The Marlins will send Nate Robertson to counter Zito. Robertson ended April with a pair of losses. He gave up 5 runs, 5 hits and walked 4 batters in just 4 innings in each game including a 6-4 loss at home to the Padres. Robertson has not felt very comfortable as a Marlin posting a 2-2 record with a 5.18 ERA overall and an 0-1 record at home with an elevated ERA of 8.00. The Marlins have dropped both of his home starts and 2 of his last 3 starts in which Robetson's ERA hangs well over 6.00. His only start against the Giants was desent pitching 7 inings giving up 4 runs off 8 hits in an 0-4 loss making his 0-1 lifetime against theGiants with a 5.14 ERA. The Marlins Shortstop, Handley Ramirez is 9 for 15 with 4 homers i 3 games this month but is only 1 for 10 against Zito. Giants roll tonight with Zito on the Hill.

    GAME 2
Kyle Kendricks willget to keep his spot in the rotation dispite his early early struggles. Kendricks looks to shake off his early issues as he is 0-1 with a 7.61 ERA in his first 5 starts. The Phillies have dropped 4 of his last 5 starts. I Kendrick's last 3 starts, he is 0-3 witha 4.50 ERA giving up 9 runs, 7 walks ansd 5 homers off 17 hits, but the right-hander has shown improvement in his last start against the Mets, pitching 5 innings givig up 4 runs on 5 hits. Kendricks will have to face a hot Cardinals team in which he has had great success against. Kendricks is 3-0 lief-time against the Cards with a 2.25 ERA. In those 3 games he pitched 6+ innings and gave up 3 runs or less in all 3 starts with 2 of those games allowing only 1 run.
Brad Penny will be the opposing pitcher for St. Louis. He has had a fabulous year thus far posting a 3-1 record supported by a 1.56 ERA. Penny got has first loss of the season against the Reds his last time out ina 2-3 score. the Right-Hander will look to bounce back and continue his winning ways. Penny has been great on the road posting a 2-0 record with a 1.25 era, and has a 2-1 TRBS. He too has had success over the Phillies posting a lifetime record of 9-4 in his 21 starts against them. In his last 10 starts against Philadelphia he has pitched 6+ innings in 7 of those 10 games allowing 4 runs or less in 9 of those 10 stars, But I like the Phillies in this situation with Kendricks struggling. ESPN is notorious for putting struggling pitchers on TV in bounce back situations. This may seem like a crazy system but it works most of the time.

Tampa Bay is one of the most impressive teams thus far this year posting a 19-7 record overall and an amazing 10-1 road record start. matt garza will get the start for the Rays. Tampa Bay has won 4 of his 5 starts. Garza has been amazing this year going 4-1 with a 2.06 ERA. His road starts have been just brilliant posting a 2-0 record with a nasty .56 era. but GArza will have to face Seattle in hopes to keep the Rays in winning form, But it has been the Mariners who have been the aggresors in most of their 4 match-ups with Garza on the hill. the right-hander hasn't faced Seattle since giving up 5 runs on 10 hits in 5 2/3 innings of an 8-7 comeback win in Aug of 08, but in the 2 meeting before that, he didn't make it out of the 3rd innings, but did get a victory in Seattle in 07 pitching for the Twins. Garza is 1-1 Lifetime against the Mariners with a 9.17 ERA.
Ciff Lee will oppose Garza for the MAriners, In his first game back he was dominant as usual giving up just 3 hits in 7 innings including 8Ks, but fell short in a 20 loss in 12 innigns against the Rangers. The Left-Hander will attempt to get his first win of the season against the Hot going Tampa Bay Rays. Lee has won 4 straight against them and 5 of his last 6 games against the Rays. He success has been dominant against Tampa Bay. Since 03 his TRBS (Against the Rays) is 6-4. He has given up 3 runs or less to the Rays in 9 of those 10 apperances and pitched 7+ innings in 7 of those 10 starts. Lee is 6-2 Lifetime against the Rays with a 2.32 ERA with 2 shut-outs. Lee with cool off the Rays today.
